For the last two days Vanuatu has held its National ICT Days, with WanTok as a Gold sponsor. The event was held in Unity Park in Luganville, Santo and was organised to coincide with the global World Telecommunication & Information Society Day (WTISD).
It gave business people and members of the public the chance to discover more about the developing ICT infrastructure, while ICT stakeholders, including WanTok, were able to share success stories, case studies, lessons learned, solutions and strategies and policies to meet present and future challenges.
The event kicked off at 9:30am on Monday with the opening parade. It was led by the Vanuatu Prime Minister, The Honourable Bob Loughman Weibur and included representatives from the Government sectors, NGOs and private businesses – including WanTok!
For the rest of the two days the WanTok representatives sat and talked to people – mainly about their dissatisfaction with Digicell and Vodafone on Santo. We were able to tell them that WanTok is on the way!
